In Their Words

What homeowners say after.

“We interviewed five contractors for our 1961 daylight ranch. Woodland was the only team that walked through and pointed out structural things we hadn’t noticed. Eighteen weeks later, we had the home we’d been talking about for ten years.”

Anna & Mark P.  ·  Hemlock project  ·  Portland

“Woodland’s detail in a craftsman kitchen rebuild is what set them apart – they understood the millwork rules we wanted held.”

Sarah K.  ·  Murray project  ·  Beaverton

“They opened our 1962 split-level walls before quoting and caught two reframes we’d been living with. That conversation alone saved us $40K downstream.”

David L.  ·  Berkshire project  ·  West Portland

Questions about the work.

More than 500 Portland-area homes since 2008. The five projects featured on this gallery (Berkshire, Whitepine, Murray, Aubergine, Hemlock) are representative of the range, not the full archive. We share additional case studies relevant to your project during a free consultation.

Yes. We schedule active-site walkthroughs for serious 2026 prospects. You see the framing stage, the trim stage, or a final-clean stage depending on what’s underway. It’s the fastest way to read fit and finish.

Yes for Whitepine, Murray, Berkshire, and Hemlock. Aubergine’s before-and-after package is in production. Full project photo books are available on request, including framing-stage photos and material specifications.

Carefully. Mid-century homes in Portland’s West Hills, Bethany, and Cedar Hills carry knob-and-tube wiring, undersized panels, original galvanized supply lines, and asbestos in unexpected places. We open walls before quoting finals, pull abatement permits when needed, and re-route systems to current code. Three of our five featured projects are mid-century restorations.

A refresh keeps the existing footprint and cabinet boxes, then upgrades doors, hardware, counters, lighting, and paint. The Aubergine project on this gallery is a refresh. A full remodel reframes layouts, relocates plumbing and electrical, and replaces cabinetry. Murray is a full remodel. Refresh budgets typically run 30 to 50 percent of remodel budgets for the same kitchen.

Eighteen to twenty-six weeks on site for the typical Portland whole-home, plus eight to twelve weeks of design-build pre-construction. Mid-century restorations like Berkshire and Hemlock add four to six weeks for systems work. We hold a fixed not-to-exceed schedule once permits clear, with weekly written updates.

Portland (all quadrants), Beaverton, Bethany, Cedar Hills, Hillsboro, Lake Oswego, Tigard, and West Linn. Most of our 2026 projects are in West Portland, the West Hills, Beaverton, and Lake Oswego. We’re licensed in Oregon (CCB #181942) and bonded across the metro.
